Wellingborough’s Sheep Street and Silver Street will host a free circus-themed street party on Saturday 25 September to celebrate the re-opening
of the streets after five months of improvement works.

The two streets will be transformed into a fun-filled circus for the day, with music and entertainment and plenty to do for all the family. The streets and
shops will be decorated and traders from the area will be on hand to publicise the variety of businesses on offer. A prize draw offering unique prizes
from most of the streets' shops will be run throughout the day.

Councillor Graham Lawman, Chairman of Wellingborough Council's Development Committee said: "We think that Wellingborough town centre is
unique, with its mix of independent shops, friendly customer service and free parking, and we want to shout about that. By throwing this party the
whole borough can celebrate the completion of the improvement works along Sheep Street and Silver Street and the start of our town centre regeneration.
We want to bring people into the town, to show them why it's so good to shop here, and the street party is a great way to do that."

The improvement works, including widening the pavements, adding a bus lane, and making the whole area safer and more accessible for pedestrians, is
the first step in the town centre's transformation. It is the start of increased investment in the area to make Wellingborough a place that people are
proud to live, work and shop in.

The party will be officially opened by the Mayor of Wellingborough, Councillor Lora Lawman at 11am. The festivities, which will also include caricature
artists, magicians and balloon modellers will then continue until 4pm. Sheep Street and Silver Street will be closed to traffic for the duration of the party.

The party is being organised by Wellingborough Council and highways contractors MGWSP with support from the Town Centre Partnership.
