Changes to Daventry District Council's out-of-hours service

The changes will not affect the Council’s response to major incidents and emergency situations, but from
April 1, 2010, the Council will no longer provide a discretionary out-of-hours service in respect of day-to-day
environmental health issues.

The statutory element of the service,  to provide out-of-hours homelessness advice for residents of
Daventry District,  will continue through a new partnership arrangement with Northampton Borough Council.

From 1st April residents in Daventry District will be asked to call NBC’s out-of-hours number in the first instance.
Daventry District Council will continue to fund these arrangements. On average DDC receives about six out-of-hour
calls per year relating to homelessness.
