TO LAUNCH Liberation Day Northamptonshire Police has organised for Trickster, a musical aimed at tackling the problem of distraction burglary to appear in the county as part of a wider regional campaign.

Trickster, the bogus caller musical aims to raise awareness and the problem of distraction burglary through music, comedy and vivid storytelling.

Based on a true story, Trickster is performed by the Solomon Touring Theatre and follows the story of George, an elderly war veteran who falls victim to a distraction burglary and how he deals with being conned.

The Liberation Day event is the Force’s contribution as part of the east midlands collaboration and follows on from a wider regional response campaign to distraction burglary that launched earlier this month.

Head of Intelligence, Detective Inspector Elliot Foskett said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to reach some of our more vulnerable communities, those who are often the victims of bogus callers and ‘rogue traders’. Liberation days are being held all over the region to allow the public to get some practical advice in a really informal way.

He added: “The day promises to be very busy with various stalls and opportunities to speak to detectives and officers, along with partner agencies who will be on hand to offer advice.”

The event will take place on Friday 26th March at 10am to 1pm at The Guildhall (Great Hall), St Giles Square. Advice will also available along with refreshments, lunch and free transport*

For more information or to book a place, please call Enzina Small at Northamptonshire Police on 03000 111 222 Ext 8348.

*Free transport will be provided to and from the venue for parties of 10 plus - RSVP by Friday 19th March.
