Police were called yesterday (Tuesday 9 March) at approximately 9.30am to a reported sighting of what is believed to be a large snake in the undergrowth at Lingswood, Northampton.

It is believed the snake may be a green Burmese Python and several feet long.

Although these snakes are not known to be dangerous, members of the public are advised not to approach it, keep a safe distance away from it and immediately call the police on 999 or the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.
